That all goes without saying. Of course he did it for his own personal interests. No one's fighting for free. That said, considering how flabby he looked at the weighin and how little training he's done lately in light of his recent surgery I think it speaks volumes that he's actually stepping up and fighting a world beater like DC on such short notice.
Right. It's not like he renegotiated his contract beforehand. Just turned 41 in April, just had gall bladder surgery in May, barely any training since, and he's going up in weight 48 hours before the bell rings to fight the LHW champ. There is no "yeah, but...", he's a badass. And if he wins, holy shit.

Welcome to the machine.
When Anderson is respecting his opponents, that historically has led to an ass kicking performance.

I wouldn't bet on that here.

I think the best result for everyone is a tight decision for DC, but with a couple vintage Spider moments.

Although if Anderson does win, I will totally mark out.

DC is going to take Anderson Silva down and absolutely maul him. Silva couldn't handle the size and wrestling of Sonnen or Weidman very well. I expect DC to maul his ass.

Hey so I'm sure I missed it but did it come out WHY this is a non-title fight? I know they're doing three rounds but I mean if Anderson wins doesn't that really muddy the LHW division even more?

Because Anderson wanted 3. He hasn't been training, coming off of surgery.
I guess. Seems nuts though because if Silva DOES happen to KO him in the first or second round (or triangles him like he did Sonnen) then we got an interim champ who's out of his fucking mind and can't seem to keep himself out of trouble and a champion who was just knocked the fuck out. I dunno I'm really looking forward to the fight but I wish it were for the title. I'm an Anderson nuthugger from way back though and I wanna see mah dude back on top.

Three rounds to fight when you haven't been training is crazy. 5 rounds with no training might have killed the old man. I'm rooting for DC but wouldn't mind seeing Anderson pull off something crazy. I know Anderson is gonna weigh less but it's crazy when you see him next to DC and you remember back to when DC mauled guys like Barnett.

The real gangster move is for Anderson to beat DC and then retire. I think he's close to retirement anyways. That'd be the way to go out though.

Ed Soares just posted on Facebook and the way he wrote what he did made it seem like Anderson is retiring. He was thanking him, being there for the entire ride, etc, saying it's been a pleasure.

Aldo looks huge.
[DOUBLEPOST=1468119003,1468118663][/DOUBLEPOST]Round 1? Frankie did a lot more but Aldo landed the 2 or 3 only hard shots of the round.
