Yoel Romero set to move up to UFC’s Light Heavyweight division
Romero vs Jon Jones, make it happen Dana.
I would love to see Romero/DC. Shame we can't get DC/Goose followed by DC fighting the winner of Oez/Romero. That would be a fun lineup.
If he can't make weight it's the thing to do but I don't see him being as successful at LHW
Really? It's such a much weaker division than MW though, I think he'll be Top 3.
His speed, power, and wrestling will translate well in the division.
His only loss pre-UFC was at LHW. I'm just concerned that he's going to be giving up too much size at LHW.
Damnit I was gonna post this. I think 205 is the weakest it's been in a while. Romero ain't getting younger, he wants a legitimate run now would be the time to do it.
A win over Gus would net him a title shot with one fight in the division.
41. Holy shit is he a physical specimen.
He was only off 185 by .2 last time and seems like some issue in how the extra weight cut time was handled. I think he is too small for 205 but then again, I thought Whittaker & Gastelum were both too small to fight at 185....
I think there is a very good chance he would beat Gus.
I would pick Yoel to win.
I'm with you.
I wonder if (secretly dream inappropriately of) Yoel could be more active during the fights without such a big weight cut. He's a thick guy, I'm sure he's well over 200. Maybe if he's not so dehydrated, he'll get even better...
Daniel Cormier on Yoel Romero's callout: 'You don't fail a class and then get moved up a grade'
He gets whooped at LHW.
I don't get the too small for LHW, have you guys seen the Yoel? lol
Yoel retweeted this:
And then sent out this zinger
All things being equal I would like to see someone mop the floor with Yoel at 205. I don't really care who.
