And tables. They always do so well with the tables.
Yeah. I'm okay with it since the peak was the payoff and they stuck the landing but, yeah.
He still had a better night than Graves, holy fuuuuuuck.
Fucking no shit right? Haha
Jay white beat Tana for the title.
Yea I just saw that. That's cool I guess? I dunno
Yeah I feel about the same.
They seem to be putting a lot of whities over, at the expense of their home grown Japanese stars. Which I guess they're doing to help with their NA expansion. Seems like a very WWE thing to do .
Losing Kenny put them behind the eightball a bit, making him the third top gaijin after AJ and Finn to leave and since they see Jay as something of a prodigy and a "homegrown" dojo graduate from NZ, they think he's got deeper roots and at his age, is worth a bigger investment. Him being booked as a top tier guy was always the trajectory, they just had to expedite the push extensively, with Jay taking the Kenny role.
FWIW, they have two full-time Japanese "aces" with Okada and Naito(fuck me they've fumble Naito!) and given his age, Tana is their living legend ace and it seems as though they've got Ibushi as another ace to book as a top tier guy, so there was still this belief that they need a gaijin top guy to balance out the North American tours and to keep interest in the English speaking brand, and White is the far closer to NJPW's type than Ospreay or Juice.
I think Jay has the potential to be an even better main event star than Kenny in the long run, but it all feels so rushed and a bit forced, which isn't how you'd want these coronations to come across. Gedo did nearly the exact same thing when he booked Okada to the title and I'll put my faith in him booking this one, but I haven't been super impressed with NJPW's booking since pre-G1 and they've got roster issues at JrHW and Tag that are arguably bigger issues than their top stars, since Okada/Tana/Naito are all A1.
Do you think Seth actually beats Brock at mania or does the wwe suck Brock’s cock some more and keep the belt on him.
Not saying Brock doesn’t make them money but as little as he works and having the belt not defended has to cost them money right?
They haven’t used Brock to really put a single person over, so what is the point of having him as champion. Keep him around for 3 or 4 special attraction matches a year.
How do they justify him being champion, he doesn’t do press tours, does his thing and basically leaves. At this point I would image he has really devalued the belt. But maybe im wrong.
100% I think Seth goes over Lesnar.
Logic should dictate that you'd want the most over babyface to be either your champion, or chasing the top heel for the championship to draw the most money. WWE doesn't care, they literally succeed in spite of their booking, are incapable of booking a top babyface and they've shown their willingness to book three hours of RAW without a top title for extended periods of time. Given the pissing contests with UFC, I could see them not wanting to lose a big name like Brock, trying to "work the marks" by not doing the predictable "babyface wins at Mania" moment and keeping the belt on Brock just so others don't have him.
IMO, they simply don't have a top babyface to beat Brock and really make that win have value, since Brock has so much equity invested in him. Rollins is very good, but he's not an ace and he's nowhere near as over as a top babyface should be, plus- if there's a chance Roman comes back in the next year, I don't see anybody going over Brock but him.
I see money in Brock/Lashley and Brock/McIntyre feuds, which could occupy Brock until next year given his limited dates, so it wouldn't shock me in the slightest if they kept Brock as champ and didn't put Seth in that spot, especially if it isn't closing the show.
I'd put Riddle over Brock in a total squash and have that be the blowoff of Brock, but that's been my pipe dream for ages lol.
Is Ibushi sticking around in NJPW? I thought he may have been on his way outs
He showed up at the New Beginnings show and they'd said he signed a two-year deal to stay in Japan. Word was that Ibushi doesn't want to leave Japan, which is why he didn't go with AEW and why he didn't jump when WWE offered him a deal after the CWC years ago.
Gotcha. Good to hear it. When he lost at WK I was thinking he was on the outs
There is a reason she is The Man.
the only movie i want to watch that has Paige in it, is on pornhub
Paige isn't actually in the non pornhub movie. It's just about her and her family.
