Too bad, pretty cool if she would have been the first to defend both titles

Anyone else over these champ vs champ fights only to see the winner of the 2nd belt stripped of it?

You enjoy having a fighter win a title, never defending it and then being stripped of it and leaving the division? Weird flex but ok.

Does sound like Nunes will be stripped, sounds like she is going to voluntarily giving it up. Similar to DC.

Should just have the fights at a catch weight with no titles on the line.

Stripped, giving up the title, whatever the case I'm just over fighters winning titles and never defending them, leaving the division and throwing things out of wack for the fighters currently in that division.

If Cyborg leaves the UFC, her legacy will take a big hit.

Only won three 145 pound fights in the UFC, 2 of those fights pretty much being cans.

So really, all in all, Cyborg has only fought 1 legitimate 145 contender since she was busted for steroids back in 2013.

Well to be fair, Cyborg is pretty much the only 145er which things were thrown out of wack for and she asked for this fight.

I bet Megan and maybe Holly are the only 2 other girls who even care if the division closes.

I want to see the best fighters fight. If they were to consistently defend both titles how long would it hold up both divisions for?

Marloes Coenen, Daria Ibragimova, Holly Holm, Amanda Nunes were all legitimate contenders at 145. When the UFC doesn't want to fully support the 145 division (there are plenty of girls to sign around the world to make it work) and couple the fact that most head down to 135, it's hard.

Me too. Have them be billed as Super Fights with no titles on the line. Catchweight botus that take place between their two weight classes.

My mistake, 2 successful fights against 2 legit 145 contenders since her steroid bust:

    Marloes Coenen
    Holly Holm

And who the fuck is Daria Ibragimova?

And Nunes was not considered a 145 pounder in the UFC until she stepped up and whooped Cyborg.

9-1 when she fought Cyborg, all wins by stoppage. I believe she's retired now, I'm not sure. And I'll repeat...

When the UFC doesn't want to fully support the 145 division (there are plenty of girls to sign around the world to make it work) and couple the fact that most head down to 135, it's hard. These are 2 reasons why I think the 145 division has suffered since she has been in the UFC.

But there are plenty of 145 lb women to sign if the UFC wanted to do so. But Dana has never really liked Cyborg stemming from the ongoing feud between her and Ronda. And we all know how petty Dana can be.

There is no 145-pound division and there never has been, unfortunately.

Being 9-1 in feeder leagues doesnt mean you're a legit contender for the 'best female fighter in the world'.

Do you recognize any of the names Daria Ibragimova beat? Not a single one of her previous wins even has a wikipedia page. How about the orgs she fought for before fighting Cyborg.. other than M-1 Ukraine, do you recognize any of those leagues? Shit, the opponents she fought were so bad, she was able to beat three of them in one month!

Let’s take a quick look at Daria Ibragimova’s 9 wins. Where are they now?

    Anastasia Plisenkova 3-3
    Anastasia Kravets 3-1
    Mariam Khalilova 1-2
    Yulia Drukteynite 1-6
    Ekaterina Tarnavskaja 1-6
    Ludmila Radko 1-3
    Ludmila Radko 1-3
    Tatiana Montyan 0-1
    Vladena Yavorskaya 4-3

    Total win loss ratio: 15-28

    Shit eh, Daria Ibragimova!
