The purpose for this log is to not only track my gains but to also track how often and how strictly I enforce my workout routines. I try to lift 3 times a week and go to BJJ 3 times a week with either 1 or 2 rest days depending on if I lift and go to BJJ the same day. I do not have a specific diet and am not currently training for any particular competition currently.

    Please feel free to comment.

    Saturday's (9/12/08) workout

    3x10 Lat pulldown - 90 lbs 1st set, 100 2nd, 110 3rd (missed last rep)

I take it the DB for bench were 60lbs each or 30 each? And damn that deadlift is crazy weight.

60 lbs each arm....120 lbs. total.

My arms are still very weak from when I had my humurous snapped in half at a BJJ tourney a year ago. I've seen very few gains out of my arms, but they are gettings there.

Just got back from rolling BJJ, rolled 2 rounds 5 minutes each 45 seconds in-between. No one wanted to roll. Barely broke a sweat.

Today I lifted earlier than normal, around 11:45am....I felt weaker.

45 second rest intervals in-between sets.

3x6 Squat - 185 1st two sets, 205 last set (down from repping 255, haven't squatted in a month or so though so I expect to see the gains back to where I was before)
3x5 Standing Overhead Press - 75 lbs 1st set, 95 lbs. last 2 sets (this is my weakest lift by leaps and bounds, hasn't been the same since I had my arm broken)
3x10 Face Pulls - 110 lbs. (machine is weird, weight should of been lower than this)
3x15 Ab Cable Pulldown - 150 lbs (same weird machine as face pulls) 1st set, Switched machines; 90 lbs 2nd, 90 lbs 3rd
    2x10 Side Bends - 70 lbs 1st, 75 lbs 2nd set
    2x6 DB Snatch - 50 lbs 1st, 60 lbs 2nd (superset the side bends)

As always, feel free to comment.

Good work. Don't worry about the strength in your shoulder lifts and stuff, it will come back. I am in the same boat, but with my right leg. I have torn the fuck out of the damn ACL and Meniscus, and it has never been the same. Slowly though the strength is coming back.

    Just keep pushing it!

If it makes you feel better, I have never messed up my arms and my over head presses aren't much stronger. Last time I did them it was at 135 for sets of 6. :-/

    Keep up the hard work!

I had to google face pulls, I think I am going to try them in my next workout without the trainer.

No time to lift today so did a quick circuit workout instead. (Exercises are done in succession)

    3x15 Pushups
3x15 Crunches (hold at top for 2 seconds)
    3x15 Reverse Pushups
    3x15 Bodyweigth Squats

    No rest in-between exercises

Getting the 4th stripe to my white belt tonight.

Class yesterday went well, no one would roll afterwards though. No white belts ever roll with me :(

Yet again, no white belts wanted to roll with me tonight.

However, I did tap my first blue belt tonight! Then proceeded to get my ass beat on by a few purple belts, walked away with a bloody and bruised nose and a busted lip. Accident of course.

Do you still train at World Class Strife? I left a few months back because no black belts taught, anything change? Or is Dutch still teaching?

Did you go to the advanced classes? Mr Gray usually teaches them, Dutch teaches the beginning classes. Mr. Gray broke his finger randomly when showing technique a month ago, so I'm not sure how much he is teaching atm...but he generally teaches the advanced classes and rolls and beats my ass afterward. I haven't been able to go to many advanced ones lately due to my school schedule but when I do he is usually the one teaching.

    Maybe you're right...

Yeah, I only went to the advance classes. And when I left Dutch was teaching them all, not Mr. Gray or even Mike. After a few months of that and starting college I left. Kinda wish I got my blue belt before I left, still a green.
