I have not watched the fight but Thompson said that he was injured and just trained like 2 or 3 days for this fight.

Feel like shit watching Sakuraba going down like that.

Knew it was a bad idea.

Give it to Aoki, being the asswipe he is, he at least pulled some of those punches and didn't take the opportunities to submit Sakuraba when they were there.

Sakuraba should not be fighting anymore. And if he still decides to fight, why are they putting him against Top fighters that are still in very good condition?
They expect Sakuraba to take a beating and then make a huge comeback and win the fight like he did against Galesic?

Sakuraba should stick to pro wrestling or grappling matches. And if he does MMA put him against some 50 year old can, not against top fighters 15 years younger than him.

That ref should be fined. He let Sakuraba take an extra minute of punches.

Hell Sakuraba wouldn't be medically cleared to fight in the states, he literally doesn't have blood flowing to a portion of his head.

watching the fight, he was going to give him every chance and Aoki was just peppering him with annoying punches. When Aoki realized that the ref wasn't going to step in and Saku wasn't gonna tap, he threw one, maybe two punches with full force and the ref stepped in then. Like I said earlier, I give Aoki some credit for being a decent sport with the guy. Had that been 3 years ago, we might be talking about how nasty Saku's shredded shoulder looked after Aoki's Omoplata

    Looked fishy.
Maybe the kick had so much force that even though it was blocked, it still affected Ishii.

BTW anyone has the video of the opening ceremony?

Wow! To hear once again the Pride Music at the Saitama Super Arena, with a typical PRIDE FC opening ceremony, with Takada, Lenne Hardt, some old Pride fighters, some new prospects. Really awesome!!!
Maybe UFC owns 90% of the best fighters in the world, but Japanese MMA is very ahead in terms of how to make a show.

not sure if you were gonna fix a fight that night, that it would be the fight they fix, wouldn't they want the Gold medal Judoku to win, not lose?
