You can never stay motivated. Motivation always ebbs and flows. What we can do is to harness all the energy motivation gives when it flows and slowly build habits to help us maintain discipline when motivation ebbs.

Habits are built slowly, one at a time. The parable of the tortoise and the hare is a metaphor on how the discipline gained by slowly creating habits is the faster road to achieving goals than relying solely on motivation. The tortoise represents habits and the hare represents motivation. We are both the tortoise and the hare. Each is a source of power we can harness. The tortoise can carry the hare when he sleeps and the hare can carry the tortoise to hurry us along when he's awake.

Motivation is reassurance you can be persuaded, influenced, and directed to action.

If you put that on a shirt you owe me 5 dollars. Per shirt.

motivation humorous: pain goes away, internet results last forever.

more serious, when I'm running a race and I'm getting a little tired or my feet are feeling heavy and my legs are burning I have a little mantra I tell myself.

"better to live one day as a lion, than a hundred years as a lamb"

Yogi/Mystic. Doesn't matter who he is though. His words are wise. The 3rd point is relative to the feelings you have as of late.

Just watched this. Now I'm going to take a 90 minute bike ride while getting paid. That's motivation.

Someone said that success is 1% motivation and 99% perspiration. Absolutely true!

5 minutes of working hard is way more productive than spending countless hours reading motivational stuff on social media.
