UFC champ Max Holloway faces Frankie Edgar in UFC 218 headliner
YES, so much YES.
What a fun fight. I enjoy both guys.
Would love to see Frankie earn another belt before the end of an amazing career but I would also love to see Max go on a long term run.
Time to test that Tdd Max..
I hope Max wins..
Both are favorites but Frankie is a little bit more favorite. Possibility for Edgar to be a two div champ is tantalizing, dude deserves it, but he gets hit a bit & Max is a fuckin hitter. Gonna be a great fight.
Max is a slow starter. He better be ready from the jump this go around otherwise he's going to catch a beating that he won't be able to recover from in time for it to matter.
McGregor: Holloway has ‘done a great job’ climbing up, winning featherweight belt
IMO Frankie is one of the top 10 GOATS
I hope he wins this fight, gets a money fight with someone (Aldo trilogy) and then calls it a career.
Edgar's transformation in the sport and grittiness and toughness is something I'd truly hate to see sullied by hanging on too long.
(I've always secretly wanted to see a Jim Miller or Nate Diaz vs Frankie Edgar fight)
It's crazy to think that Jim Miller has fought damn near everyone at 155 and he didn't fight Frankie.
You could try hitting Miller or Frankie up on Twitter and seeing if either of them have any tape of when they fought back in '06 (Reality Fighting 14: Fall Brawl, according to Wikipedia)
Oh shit they did fight back then. Damn.
Good fight. I would give Holloway the slight favorite given his past run. Pulling for The Answer though.
Decent odds to bet on Frankie.
Frankie has done a lot and put on some great performances but I want Holloway to continue his streak.
WAR FRANKIE; STUFF THIS LANKY NERD INTO A PROVERBIAL LOCKER.
WAR WAR WAR.
Would be great to see Frankie win this and then fight Conor for the title at 155lb... That match should have happened a long time ago
I only knew it because i remember Goldy quoting Jim Miller about Frankie's punching power: said he was the hardest puncher he'd ever faced. "Hits sneaky hard" was the exact wording if I recall correctly.
Just found some quotes from people who were there that night:
Fuuuuuuck really wanna see that sounds like a fucking war!
I've actually seen that fight. But both guys were completely different fighters back then.
