Winner of Nate/Conor vs Winner of Khabib/TFerg sounds about right to me. That would shake the division out a little. and set up some stepping stones for future title shots.

    Im almost over Conor

its getting harder and harder for me to get excited for any Conor fight

if he doesnt get a fight scheduled soon I may just forget about him

if it wasnt for some of the worst tattoos on an individual I would have already

    And so it begins.........

If Flyod can get $25M off of a rematch in the UFC (w/ specialized rules) he'd be insane not to take it.

And if he's serious about negotiating this fight then there's no way they put Conor back in the cage until the deal is dead or signed.

    no way it ever happens

Floyd could make 3 times that with a boxing match he'd almost certainly win

the only way Floyd steps in the cage is against Ronda

But he won't make $50M+ to do another McGregor fight after he carried McNugget to a lopsided TKO. He could have put him away in 3 had he really wanted to.

    true

but Im sure the UFC has to know the MMA PPV buyers dont want to see a Conor fight wasted on someone who has less MMA training than CM Punk

I think they would if they threw in a couple of specialized rules (whether made public or not) like no head kicks, no takedowns, no elbows.

Those would be Floyd's sticking points, but I think they'd make it a similar work as the last time. And Floyd could lose the fight and not hurt his boxing record. Giving him one more payday or two in boxing, and McG would remain the top PPV draw for another couple of years.

If McG came back and got wasted by Knobby, he would seriously hurt his PPV potential. They don't want that to happen.

but wouldnt you find it a shitty match with 'special' rules?

it sounds more like a circus than a real fight

    that cant be true

I was drunk once and a girl dared me to punch a horse

the next day she told me she said 'donkey' not horse

    missed an opportunity there

I still think Floyd is too old and smart to fight in an MMA fight. I expect him to announce TMT is managing MMA fighters or maybe even promoting an event.

But, hey, maybe I'm retarded. After all, I punched the donkey, not her ass.

    I can see that

but I imagine PPV buys are a big factor, especially with the new owners, WME or whomever

I cant say it wont happen

but I can think of 7 different MMA fighters Id sooner see Conor fight

    We aren't arguing that.

From a business perspective though Conor's ability to generate extreme amounts of revenue for UFC is very fragile.

They've been able to somewhat white-wash the loss to Nate.

But if he were to get handled by a legitmate top contender he can easily go from 1M PPV buys to just another star.
The longer they can postpone the fall the better.

It becomes a matter of; "who can Conor lose to and not hurt our revenue?". The list is limited. It includes Floyd, GSp, and ????

From a fan perspective, I absolutely want to see him fight. And fight top legitimate contenders. And fight them often. But what the fans want from Conor and what the bosses want from Conor are very different.

Win or lose Connor has an exciting style. I just hope he fights again. My want is to see Nate finish him then a rematch with Aldo at 155. I think Connor beats Ferg, but gets thrashed by Khabib. I really don’t think losses matter that much in him being a draw. He talks so much shit and apparently people like that. Plus is style of fighting is super fan friendly. I like the ko’s (and I’m a grappler).

I just want to see him fight but I understand him not wanting to risk his health after making so much money. I wouldn’t want to either.

I'll fight that Irish prick for free. I mean I want my own sponsors but the UFC can keep their money. I'm a good deal bigger than conor but I'm sure the skill disparity more than evens out the eight inches of height he would be giving up.

Nah man. I'm not signing to fight him in street fighter. If he wants to do this then he will have to step into my world and face me in......mortal kombat!
