*UFC files for bankruptcy protection.*
Premature but give it time.
Hard to think they would co-promote with McGregor when they refused to do so with Fedor & M-1 at a time when Fedor was still basically at the top of his game.
But then again, I need to keep reminding myself, this isnt about sport.
Fedor and M-None weren't making Mystic Tap money.
Mystic Tap is a great name.
Although, the potential was there. Mother Russia dwarfs Ireland.
This clown will stop at nothing to avoid defending a title. He's great for the sport in the sense that he showed fighters are worth much more than the pennies they're fighting for tho.
I said before the Mayweather fight, win or lose he's probably never fighting again and its looking like I was right. Glad this is happening to the ufc for being fuckin idiots. They let one guy become bigger than the company and are now paying for it.
Probably won't be long now before they strip him and label Tony the undisputed champ and try marketing him hard since its looking like nothing but 200k buys for their ppv's for awhile now lol. Or they can probably trying spinning the whole Jones thing as an error and bring him back since he's probably the biggest name left (doubt gsp sticks around long win or lose).
I don't see that happening.
one thing I do agree with, they aren't going to co-promote shit with him. He also won't have an ownership stake. That's a slippery slope and if they do, that desperation would cost them.
not to mention the event he was a 'promoter' of had zero to do with MMA or the UFC and has no bearing on this
If they can't get him to commit they need to strip him. But I don't think they have the balls. We'll see, but they allowed the tail to wag the dog and they will pay dearly for it. But co-promote? please.
I don't know about that. The UFC stripped him of his FW title. Which that was head scratching to say the least in the sense that they allowed Conor to go for two belts. He's the biggest star in the company. He wins in highlight reel fashion, does something that has never been done before in the UFC, and almost immediately after, is stripped of one of the belts. That move loses the UFC a shit ton of money, not having the ability to promote a two weight champion. The only thing I can see is that Conor or his team told the UFC that he was under no terms going back down to 145 so they had to. Either way, if Conor doesn't fight in December or January, he will be stripped.
What did Conor do that had never been done before?
First person to sit on the cage wall and hold up two UFC belts at the same time?
First person to win UFC gold after losing to Nate Diaz?
First person from the UK to win a UFC title?
Hold two titles at the same time in two separate weight classes in the UFC.

Didn't he beat Nate before fighting Eddie? Or am I tripping?

and Conors one of the first where its ok to make fun of him for the way he talks or comes from that isnt named Bisping
Conors also the first professional fighter to take this serious
He also lost to him before fighting Eddie
Conor is only the 2nd fighter to win a UFC title immediately after defeating Nate Diaz. Dos Anjos was the first.
Yes, that is also a correct statement.
I don't think that beats BJ running under water with rocks
nothing beats a BJ
took me a minute to pick up what you meant here. But i have to agree
