Discernment is a skill often overlooked.

Our discernment matters not, the judges disagreed with you, but not me.

Gustafsson’s fists disagreed with Jones’ face.

All I know is what DC himself told the media. The UFC wanted him to fight Jon and he told them he couldn't because of his hand injury and would be back in January. I don't know what changed between then and 10 days ago.

You also know they booked DC-Lewis before Jones-Gus 2, because that is what happened.

Exactly, hence why I said I don't know what happened between DC telling the UFC that he cannot fight because of a hand injury and then 9 days later the UFC announcing both the DC/Lewis fight and the Jon/Gus II fight.

With legacy damaged, Jon Jones’ UFC 232 return about more than just a title

Let's just hope that Gus gets the job done this time. Anything to help send Jones into irrelevancy.

I’m torn here. Normally I’d just want Gus to win. But I do wanna see jones beat DC again and everything that comes with it

I wanna see Gus use that knee stomp (you know the one they call an oblique kick when Jones does it) on Jones for 25 minutes.

    Violently, as I recall.

I am PUMPED for this rematch. Their first fight was the first time we've seen Jones look flummoxed in the cage as Gus was boxing him up. He established his jab and then hooked off of it. He jabbed to the body to set up straights to the head. He used hand traps to slip his jab through when Jones was southpaw, and used the GSP dipping jab when he was orthodox. When Jones jabbed back Gus slipped and fired back tight counter hooks. He moved laterally to defuse Jones's long kicking game, and is the first (and only) opponent to get the better of Jones in kicking exchanges, simply by gritting his teeth and committing to firing one back whenever Jones landed - a tactic that Jones was visibly rattled by.

Credit to Jones though, he fought back and made clutch plays when it mattered (the back to back spinning elbows essentially won him the fight). He also used the benefit of his experience in the later rounds to push the pace on his tiring opponent.

4 years later and Gus is more experienced although he has been inactive. We all know the drama with Jones so who knows where his head is at. This is a fascinating match up and really the only downer is that it's for the belt when realistically it should be for a number one contender fight.

Jones will take care of biz, he is not going to leave it up for people to say Gus won this time

Yeah, it was a weird decision he made last time to leave it up to people (and the judges) to decide. Had nothing to do with Goose putting the hurt on him.

You are right he did leave it up to the judges and won. He is not going to let that happen this time. Goose is going to fold like an old lawn chair
