Why is there two choices for no. Is that to dilute the no votes and give a stronger yes impression.

For me, Fedor. I still consider Fedor that mythical unbeatable wrecking machine.

GSP is great and deserves very high consideration. He does everything really good. His record is impeccable and speaks for itself.

GSP on JRE today (May 23)

it's tough. Fedor was considered the best ever for a decade, and not by the public, this included the vast majority of top fighters, including UFC champions.

Honestly, I'd still say Fedor, then Mighty Mouse, then GSP. I remove anyone that fails a drug test from consideration immediately.

I would say Fedor, but truth be told, GSP is the one that got on top and stayed there. he beat everyone. and once he beat serra he fought the best they could throw at him for 6 straight years. He came back and thumped bisping, but those 6 years of beating everyone is what would make him qualify if I had to pick

Fedor reigned supreme at a time when the best fighters in the division weren't in the UFC all the time. it went back and forth. hell there were times when the heavyweight div was weak as hell in the ufc.

I say fedor ONLY because pretty much every professional fighter said fedor. they carry a whole lot more weight then the fan opinions do. but GSP got on top and freaking stayed there.

he defended his belt nine fuckin times after beating serra to win it.

When he beat Matt Hughes Matt had been on a 6 fight win streak and was 41-5 at the time

Are you trying to discredit Fedor? I'm not quite sure what you're getting at when it is clear the best competition for Heavyweight was in PRIDE, Fedor essentially fell out of his prime when they were bought out. Fedor needed to win-out in Strikeforce to be legitimate when all we know about Heavyweight and the title defenses (record is three in the UFC with Stipe) when he won 20 fights at that weight against everyone. GSP had some softballs compared to the killers Fedor was up against, and Fedor was usually about 40 lbs smaller, with GSP usually being the bigger of the two men in all of his matchups except for Bisping. There is perhaps a paper-thin argument for GSP being a greater overall fighter than Fedor, but that's it.

so you think I'm trying to discredit him when i said that the top HW fighters weren't always in the ufc, and i said I thought he was the GOAT. including posting a video showing everyone saying he's the best

    yeah, OK. strange deduction

It's mostly your wording man, the way you worded it made it to sound like it was a discredit to those outside the UFC. As if developing the UFC's HW division and the resulting champion there would be better than anything any fighter would have accomplished. Strange indeed.

And then you say "I say fedor ONLY because pretty much every professional fighter said fedor." Which tells me that you only have this opinion because fighters do, not because you do.

GSP hasn't had a softball since he entered the UFC. Serra, Hieron and Hardy are his easiest opponents in that time and they are much better fighters than the cans Fedor crushed like Zulu, Kosaka and Nagawa. GSP fought more highly ranked fighters in a larger talent pool. There also isn't glaring welterweights missing from his record like Fedor has with Randy and Josh.

Eh, Fedor fought many well-rounded fighters and a lot of GSP's matchups were specialists in many ways or gatekeepers he was better than everywhere. Fedor and CC is four times the match-up of any single fight GSP had. The best rounded fighter GSP faced in his career was BJ Penn who was incredibly undersized and arguably beat him in the first fight. I might not full agree with @SandyWH hate of the guy but he has no where near the strength of schedule of Fedor, sorry dude.
