Darren Till vs. Stephen Thompson at UFC Fight Night 127 in England
Now we're fuckin' talking. Till fighting an actual welterweight - wonder how he'll try to capitalize on a shifty as fuck Thompson. Credit to Stephen (I refuse to call a 36+ year old man "wonderboy") for taking the fight so soon after his last; no negotiation ploy bullshit or waiting for a handout. Both dude's coming ready to fuck shit up.
(Side note: It's still weird to me how noooooobody talked about how great Cerrone looked at his more "natural" weight class; no leading, flagrantly flawed, self-indulgent "we could save a fighter's life if we just implement more stringent arbitrary weight monitoring" regs talk; no one mentioning how Till should actually be fighting at middleweight or questions on how much he cuts - Radio silent conveniently outraged weirdos.)
Damn, Till is getting trial by fire!
This should be a great fight.
Very intriguing matchup. This fight will tell us exactly where Till fits within the division. Masvidal would have been another interesting matchup.........
Anyone worried they both circle and look to counter for fifteen minutes?
I like it, I like it a LOT. A huge test for Till, he'll make fight of it too.
Stephen Thompson’s coach: No interest in fighting Darren Till at this time
So this fight is happening or isn't happening?
A fight like this shouldn't be a tease.
Darren Till says next fight is ‘definitely’ in Liverpool, Stephen Thompson ‘ideal’ opponent
It's a fight I would love to see, however Till has nothing to lose, and Wonderboy has nothing to gain. Why would Wonderboy want to fight number 8 in the division when he just fought and beat number 4? If he had lost against Masvidal, it would make a lot more sense.
Put Till in against Masvidal.
