    i don't have a logical answer for these questions, but imo buttscooting is complete bullshit. and Aoki paid for it by almost getting KTFO by Melendez for it. Yamasaki fucked that one up big time!

    It is frowned upon, but not illegal, most refs will just stand the fighter up

    2. If it is illegal, why is it illegal, and should it be?
    It should not be illegal. I rather enjoyed watching Gilbert Melendez size up Aoki when he did it. Had Yamasaki not step in, Gilbert would have knocked him out mid-sccot

    Legal as far as I know.

    4. What is your overall position on the butt scoot?
    allow kicks to the head ofa downed opponent, and you'll never have to worry about it.

    5. Can we get a butt scoot Smilie?

    No action/stalling. Same as if both fighters are doing nothing while on the ground

    Yeah, but the scooter is moving toward the opponent and the opponent is running in lot of occasions.

    Eh, I don't really like to see it, though I find it kind of funny. But, it's not against the rules. You are trying to engage your opponent, who is usually running away. If anything, the other person should be warned for not engaging.
