Well, abortion may very well be overturned within President Trumps term. AND THIS is why Republicans and conservatives in general are POLITICALLY much more intelligent than liberals/Dems because they always come back home. They will always vote for their team and understand the implications of having their guy in office and especially so when it comes to filling the courts. As someone who is a Dem (if I must declare I am more Dem than Rep) it annoys the living fuck out of me that liberals in general will always play the high horse without thinking of future implications.

Liberals love to talk about the future but politically they rarely come out to vote for the team as much as Republicans do. Two times now Nader in 2000 and the Stein/not voting folks in the 2016 election show that Dems will and can shoot themselves in the foot every single time. Liberals treat politics as a game, Republicans treat politics as having real life and death consequences...and they vote like it.

"Anthony Kennedy is retiring. Abortion will be illegal in twenty states in 18 months." —Jeffrey Toobin

    --- Post Added -- Jun 27, 2018, ---
it will be and Jeffrey Toobin saying "Abortion will be illegal in twenty states in 18 months." is the best case scenario, SCOTUS could outright ban abortion.
and lets not talk about gay rights and gay marriage goodbye, goodbye unions, goodbye voting rights act.

The root of the problem is that, for all their faults, the right sees it as their responsibility to put forth the effort to create the world that they want to see exist while liberals/the left are prone to see it as someone else's responsibility to protect and empower them. As a result, conservatives vote nearly every single time in every election that they can no matter how small while left-leaning voters give themselves every excuse possible (voter suppression and gerrymandering, while real, are just the latest excuses) to sleep in on Election Day.

You're absolutely right. The right is willing to fight tooth and nail to get the society that they want, the left hopes for it to happen and even worse is always willing to look for the best case scenario as a means to choose not to do anything.
