Jarod Mayo of the New England Patriots retired at 29.

Kirk Cousins and the Redskins broke off contract negotiations.

The year of the Raiders starts now.

I wouldn't mind the bears taking a run at Cousins if the skins don't tag him

The Bears are married to Jay Cutler come hell or high water for at least another year, if not more because of the guaranteed money in his contract.

Cousins will get 20 million a year from some desperate team like the Rams, Browns, etc., if the Redskins don't pay him. I don't think he's earned 20 million a year yet but there aren't any sure things in the draft this year and the free agent market is dry. Cousins had a slow start with a really strong finish but can he be consistent. There are a lot of QBs that got big deals that didn't pay off. I'd say Cousins is worth 12-15 million a year in a team friendly deal that would allow them to cut bait if it doesn't work out. Cousins is probably looking for 20-22 million with a lot of up front guaranteed money. The Redskins paid RGIII 17 million this year to sit on the bench so Cousins is probably using that as his measuring stick right now. It's a tough spot for the Redskins because if they tag him, he's definitely getting 22 million but on a one year deal. They also haven't had a QB in 2 decades so it's a slippery slope. It'd be some shit to see them go back to RGIII.

Yea, he'd get a one year $20 million dollar deal with the tag with all of it guaranteed. That's the average of the top 5 QBs at his position in terms of contract money.

The Patriots have a knack for taking other team castaways and making good use of them for a few years the same way the Raiders did in the 70s and 80s. I bet y'all end up with Mario Williams too and he gets 15 sacks next year.

Couldn't agree more but I think he could end up in Seattle too.

The Bears like Coy stated are stuck/content with Jay one more year and I really think its going to be two more. Then they will sever ties and move on with a Rookie they have drafted one of these next 2 years or someone they sign (I hope its with a young QB they draft though)

Both actually. I expect even bigger things for them going forward. And I am a teal drinking Jaguar homer. So there is that too, lol.
